A Week to Remember: Our French Immersion Retreat in Provence, October 2024

If you’ve ever dreamed of living your best vie française — waking up in a sun-drenched village, sipping local wine at golden hour, and speaking French like a local — our October 2024 French Immersion Retreat in Provence was just that… and more.

Hosted in the breathtaking hilltop town of Grignan, our home for the week was a luxurious boutique hotel, complete with a serene swimming pool, Provençal gardens, and postcard-worthy views around every corner. Every morning began with four hours of immersive French lessons led by the warm and talented Pearl from My French Story. Her gentle yet engaging style made everyone feel confident, whether they were brushing up on their grammar or mastering real-life conversation.

But learning didn’t stop at the classroom door — the afternoons were filled with curated cultural experiences, all en français. We wandered through sunlit vineyards for a wine tasting, explored the historic Château de Grignan, and even joined a local trufficulteur and his energetic dog for a truffle hunt, ending with an unforgettable truffle degustation that had everyone swooning.

We strolled the cobbled streets of Séguret, officially one of France’s most beautiful villages, where the shutters are lavender-blue and the wine flows generously.

There was shopping galore in local markets and boutiques, from handwoven baskets to antique finds and silky scarves. And of course — the food. Oh, the food! From rustic countryside bistros to refined multi-course dinners under the stars, each meal was a celebration of Provençal flavors and French conviviality.

We laughed, we learned, we shared wine, stories, and un petit peu of magic. And perhaps best of all — the entire retreat unfolded in French, giving everyone the confidence to not just learn the language, but live it.

This was more than a language trip — it was a full-on French lifestyle immersion, and no one wanted it to end. If you weren’t with us this time, don’t worry… we’re already dreaming up the next chapter.
